Independence with safe, smooth manoeuvrability on a unique suspension system.

Whether at school, work, home or beyond, the Ezi-Riser offers the user dramatically increased independence.

Transferring to the ground, bed, shower or toilet is easier than ever. A wider range of activities become possible, minimising the need for assistance and giving the user freedom and the satisfaction of being more independent.

Ezi-Riser’s patented height positioning system safely moves the seat height from anywhere between ground level and 730mm. Raising and lowering the seat is easy, safe and almost silent.

The Ezi-Riser also has “Tilt-in-Space” through an angle of 45° enabling the user to relax and to shift the weight from legs and buttocks.

Full (All-Wheel) Suspension System

  • Suspension allows all four wheels to remain on the ground and absorbs jolts from the terrain that can cause pain and increased pressure or shearing to the wheelchair user due to increased movement. This will help to maintain sitting balance and contact with the controller to safely drive the wheelchair.
  • Smoother driving is less likely to trigger abnormal reflexes or spasms, making sitting tolerance, posture, and driving better.
  • The superior suspension system decreases wear and tear on the chassis and motors.

Power Seat-To-Floor Function

  • The seat-to-floor function not only helps incorporate children into peer activities, but also enables many children to transfer independently in and out of the chair.
  • Seat-to-floor height can be lowered from 18” - 14” before going into reduced speed mode.
  • Allows the user to easily get under school desks or tables and functionally reach the floor while providing a more stable base by lowering the chair’s center of gravity while driving.
  • Assists in activities of daily living such as reaching lower bookshelves, pet care and interaction, and floor activities with peer groups.

Power Seat Elevate Function

  • This function is standard and offers 20cm of elevation from driving position upwards. this is a perfect feature for small people needing to reach cupboards, high benches, or even just talking to people at their own level.

Modularity

  • Ability to easily add power tilt, alternative drives, positioning accessories, and growth capabilities as client’s needs change.
  • Power options include, Seat Elevator, Seat-To-Floor function and optional Power Tilt.
  • A Free Seat Growth Kit is available as a special offer once the user has out grown the initial seat.

Power Tilt Option

  • 45º tilt is available at ANY position / seat height.
  • 45º tilt allows the user to tolerate sitting in the chair longer and be more functional.
  • 5º anterior tilt is standard when power tilt is ordered.

Center-mount Legrests

  • Allows for legrest positioning at multiple angles and positions (Including 90º for a smaller functional turning radius).
  • At 90º, the smaller footprint allows the user to get closer to cabinets, tables, and transfer surfaces. This is further enhanced by the seat-to-floor function.
  • Has been designed so that the user can stand on it if nesessary.
  • Multiple Tool-Free Adjustments - forward / backward and angle adjustability.
  • 2 footplate sizes available for the most appropriate fit.

R-Net Electronics

  • Allows for the customization of up to 8 different drive profiles.
  • Improved programmability within each drive profile.
  • High resolution LCD display to provide more feedback to the user (Optional).
  • Easy expandability and mixing input devices (ability to have multiple input devices on one chair).

Transportation

  • Ezi-Riser K450 is equipped with 4 tie down points as a standard feature. The wheelchair must only be transported in vehicles approved for this purpose.
  • For transporting the user seated in the wheelchair it is suitable for use in motor vehicles when fitted with the with the WC 19 Transit Kit and satisfies the requirements of ANSI/RESNA WC/Vol. 1 – Section 19 for forwardfacing transport in situations subject to risk of frontal collisions.
  • Another alternative is to install Permaloc - a drive in docking system installed in the vehicle which locks the wheelchair in place. The vehicle safety belt system must be used in this instance.
  • Permobil recommends that users are not transported in any vehicle while seated in the wheelchair. The only safe alternative is for the user to move to a seat in the vehicle and to use the vehicles safety belt system.

The Design Objectives

  • To be able to raise the seat to eye level and lower to ground level.
  • The chair should be practical from an assistant/guardian’s point of view.
  • Light enough to be lifted by one person and small enough fit into a standard motor vehicle.
  • The chair should be safe to operate and reliable enough to be the user’s ‘legs’ for 5 years + with minimum maintenance.
  • To be comfortable to live in.
  • The chair must have front, middle and rear suspension and ‘Tilt in Space’ of 45°.
  • It must LOOK GOOD.

Suspension System

The EziRiser has a patented suspension system offering smooth, stable and safe motoring. The rear, drive wheels and motors are independently mounted on rubberized suspension ensuring maximum traction, control and travelling comfort.
Adding to this the EziRiser has a central pivot keeping all four wheels firmly on the ground even when mounting and dismounting ledges and curbs. To ensure the perfect ride, the EziRiser also has independently suspended front wheels. These absorb the small to ‘not so small’ bumps. The front suspension can be individually ‘tuned’ to the users weight, this means that the EziRiser’s unique suspension system makes for a safe and silky smooth ride making long days in the chair a pleasure.

Safe and Reliable

Every feature of The EziRiser has been designed with safety as top priority. The placement of batteries is low and central giving a naturally balanced, safe and secure ride, even when extended to full height. To be doubly sure of stability at full height, the EziRiser has an inbuilt speed limiter that switches on once the chair reaches a pre-programmed height.
The EziRiser’s frame is built from 100% Stainless Steel. The superior strength and corrosion resistance means the chair is extremely durable. All electrical components are “off the shelf” items meaning replacement / spare parts are always available.

Ready for any Seating System*

The EziRiser comes with a universal seating attachment ready for any seating system the user requires.
* Seating sold separately

Compact Design

Adding to the EziRiser’s ability to lower its user to ground level is its modular design. The batteries quickly and easily slide out and the seat simply and safely detaches. This makes the EziRiser portable and small enough to be lifted into most motor vehicles.
This adds to the user’s freedom as they are no longer restricted to purpose built wheelchair accessible vehicles.

Streamlined, Stunning Design

As evident from this brochure, great attention has been paid to detail making the EziRiser a great looking set of wheels. The EziRiser will not only grab the right sort of attention: it will be the envy of many. The EziRiser is a wheelchair to be proud of.

Testimonials

Testimonial from the mother of a child who has got a Ezi-Riser K450

Brook has Osteogenesis Imperfecta and she has seen a lot of adversity, suffering more than 52 fractures before she was 3 years old. Brook is, and has always been very charismatic. She always sees the good in people and knows an opportunity when she sees one. Brook has an ability to draw people in – because she is social and very outgoing. She loves nail polish on her nails, she loves lipstick and she’s very good at giving an animated performance whilst telling a story about her beloved mermaids! Ariel is her favorite character. She loves to write and to draw. And when she is not in a cast she loves swimming and exploring the outdoors. Brook loves the lights on the K450 (because we play spotlight) and she loves the colour (Popstar pink) and the Horn “Toot, Toot”. She loves the independence and freedom she gets from using it.

Since Brook has got the Ezi-Riser K450, she can participate more in family situations and enjoys many activities. We are enrolled with sports, swimming, and outings in the community. The difference now is that Brook doesn’t get taken along – Brook decides and is responsible for her choices. She has more control, and doesn’t have to wait for someone to do it with her.

The advantages for me as a parent are that I suffer from lower back pain from carrying Brook in casts. This has been alleviated to a degree, now that she’s using her Ezi-Riser. Also I’m really grateful that Brook can have more experiences, initiated from her, without my input so much. She is very independent now – it’s nice to see her make the choices and I’m discovering more about my little girl and how she sees the world.

There are many advantages with the patented seat height system. Brook is ok with being up high (because I carry her up high). She enjoys the social interactions more, and she can pick leaves off tree branches – which is a big deal for her, having always looked up at branches before she got the Ezi-Riser. She is seeing the world for the first time, from a more adolescent height (age appropriate). Also because it has height adjustment – she is free to get in and out without hassle, transferring by herself!

The advantages the K450 Ezi-Riser will make in Brook’s life are huge. It’s already taking her to new destinations, helping her to make good choices for herself, including her in peer activities, adjusting her outlook and perspectives for her environment. Brook is blossoming – “Kia Puawai”, and discovering more and more. She is building a relationship with her Ezi-Riser that will serve her well for whatever endeavors she should choose.
