Medifab‘s Robotic Meal Mate auto-eating aid is a unique device that enables you to eat independently without constantly needing help from someone else, enjoying meals with dignity.

How does the Meal Mate operate?

The automated robotic arm scoops food onto the spoon, and stays level whilst it gently raises and brings the spoon up to the user’s mouth. The plate will automatically swivel to be ready for the next mouthful.

Who benefits from the Meal Mate?

Meal Mate has been designed for a wide range of users including cerebral palsy, head/spinal injuries, rheumatoid arthritis, muscular dystrophy, upper limb amputations etc, and many other persons with learning difficulties or neurological conditions.

Features:

• Stable base section with silicon cups.
• Gentle movement of spoon.
• Unique design plate – convex centre allows user to finish at least 95% of food.
• 3 button remote – designed for those with hand dysfunctions. Buttons are marked with convex points, easily distinguished by users with weak eyesight.
• Silent design.
• Six non-slip silicon pads on base section mean it is clamp-free and more carer friendly.

What do you want for dinner?

The Meal Mate robot will feed you your whole meal from start to finish! It’s easy to select ‘full-auto’ or ‘semi-auto’ function depending on what you are eating. The unique dinner plate design has a convex centre which allows you to finish your meal. A plate-swivel function can be selected if the user wants to turn the plate to the next desired mouthful. Just release the button to stop the swivel.

Function

The Meal Mate robot comes with 3 operation switches: the centre control panel, a mouse control and a foot control unit. The foot control is only used with semi-auto function.
