Steptember at Medifab
This month, Medifab ‘stepped it up’, supporting the worthy cause of Steptember. From the 4th of September, 47 of Medifab’s staff teamed up to take on the challenge of completing 10,000 step per day for the entire month. This was to raise vital funds for the Cerebral Palsy Society.
The average office worker only takes around 3,000 steps per day, so 10,000 steps a day was quite the challenge, but no one minded as it’s for a very worthy cause.
There were 12 teams within Medifab competing for the highest combined amount of money raised…
- Walk of Shame
- Cut-walk Team
- Detroit Four
- Double D and the Cool Guys
- Happy Feet
- Team Steps Rapid
- Warehouse Wallies
- Shaping Better Lives
- The Medifabulous Four
Medifab achieved a total amount raised of $2,726.00 and a total number of 9,401,389 steps walked!
The teams raised funds by getting their friends, family, and colleagues to sponsor them, as well as running small initiatives such as sausage sizzles, selling flowers, and selling dumplings to name a few!
Cerebral palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood. One in two people with cerebral palsy are in chronic pain due to the tightening of their muscles. Many will never be able to take a single step without assistance.
